South Korean Ambassador Visit Tarbiat Modares University


South Korea's ambassador to Iran visited TMU and held talks with its chancellor Dr. Ahmadi on December 4th. The ambassador also inaugurated a forum on the political developments and peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.

Ryu, Jeong-Hyun, in a meeting with Dr. Ahmadi, the chancellor of the university, mentioned the development of academic engagement and academic cooperation as one of his major missions in Iran, saying: "I am very interested in expanding academic cooperation with Iranian universities, and one of my missions In Iran concerns the pursuit and development of scientific interactions”.

Referring to the fact that the University of Isfahan has been selected as the national coordinator for academic exchanges with South Korea, he said: “Tarbiat Modares University is the first university in Tehran which I visit. I hope this meeting will lead to scientific interactions between the universities of the two countries and we are interested in getting the views of the scientific community of Iran about the Korean Peninsula developments”.

Dr. Ahmadi also expressed his interest in developing academic relationships with South Korean universities and its institutes of higher education, and Dr. Saeedi presented a summary of the background of cooperation with the Korean counterpart.

Later on, Ryu, Jeong-Hyun opened a forum on political developments and peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula. In this round table which was attended by a number of students and faculty members, Mr. Chou Seong from the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech.
